10-08-2007 PAUL HARTMANN launches new Hydrosorb Gel
indicated for the rehydration and debridement of necrotic tissue and dry devitalised wound tissue
PAUL HARTMANN has launched a new amorphous gel for the management of wounds which require debridement or moisture management. The major component of Hydrosorb Gel is isotonic Ringers Solution.
Hydrosorb Gel is indicated for the rehydration and debridement of necrotic tissue and dry devitalised wound tissue such as slough. It is also useful to manage cavity wounds which require moisture management.
It is presented in a specially designed syringe which carries measurement markings for accurate quantity administration. The syringe also allows for all of the gel to be expelled.
Hydrosorb Gel can be used to provide a moist wound environment in which granulation and epithelial cells remain viable and are able to migrate freely. It can be used in all wounds which require hydration during the acute and chronic phases.
Care should be taken with infected wounds and it is contraindicated in full thickness burns.
